Are you having trouble getting a non-clinical job?

Looking for a non-clinical job is COMPLETELY different than finding a clinical one. This applies to any healthcare professional, regardless of your degree. Allow me to explain further. When you apply for a clinical job, you are applying to a specific hospital (or medical group) in a specific location, and likely in a specific specialty. This limits the number of applicants drastically.

Now think about a non-clinical job. Many of these roles are remote which means that applicants from around the country can apply. Some jobs do not require that you have experience in a certain specialty which means the applicant pool becomes that much larger.

The bottom line is when you apply for a clinical job you may be competing with less than 5 applicants. Once you start applying for non-clinical roles you could be competing with THOUSANDS of other applicants.

What can you do to increase your chances of getting a non-clinical job?

1.     Write a resume (I have a how to guide on my website). Your application will only be looked at for an average of 5-7 seconds, make it count.

2.     Apply intentionally and strategically to jobs. Don’t just rapid fire apply to as many as possible.

3.     Tailor your resume and cover letter to each individual job

4.     Network-either use your existing network or build a new one. 80% of jobs are filled by networking.

Now you are set up to succeed.
